William Lao, M.D. is a double board-certified plastic surgeon in both the United States and Taiwan. 

Dr. Lao has patients internationally from all ethnicities due to his understanding of cultural ideals and customized surgical approach. 

Dr. Lao grew up in Taipei, Taiwan and went on to complete his high school years in Vancouver, Canada. 

He graduated first in his class and matriculated at The Johns Hopkins University in the United States. 

He earned his bachelor’s degree double majored in Biomedical Engineering and Computer Science and later earned his Doctorate of Medicine degree (M.D.) all from The Johns Hopkins University (約翰霍普金斯醫學院). After completing his MD degree at The Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Lao completed six years of integrated residency training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin. After residency, he completed the most sought out aesthetic surgery fellowship in Manhattan, New York under the guidance of Dr. Sherrell J. Aston.

After working as an attending physician on the microsurgery team in the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in ou Taiwan (林口長庚醫院), he returned to New York for his current private practice. He is affiliated with Lenox Hill Hospital and Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital in the Upper East Side Manhattan.
